This year, BWPS students have participated in the RESPECT program for the first time. The RESPECT program is a community project that teaches young students about fostering respectful relationships with women and girls, encouraging them to stand up against family violence.
It's an initiative of the Bankstown Youth Development Service and is federally funded through non-profit group,The Smith Family.
Over an eight week period, 12 boys from stage 3 worked with Mr Anasta and program coordinators to workshop ideas, write lyrics and film a music video. This culminated in an amazing performance at our whole school White Ribbon Day assembly where the boys role played and rapped about the need to end domestic violence. You can see their amazing performance on our Youtube page (link at bottom of Homepage).
