Please click here for 2022 update!

Welcome and Important Information

Welcome to Bankstown West Public School's Remote Learning page. On this page you can find all the tools you will need to assist with your child's education while at home.

Class Dojo

Our main form of communication will be through the ClassDojo app. Please make sure your app has been updated to its latest version, that you turn on the notifications in your settings and that you check your messages regularly. Please feel free to contact your child's teacher on ClassDojo if you have any questions.

Department of Education (DOE)

The DOE has created a webpage with a variety of different materials that will support remote learning. You can find that webpage here.

Timetables and Daily Activity Resources

You will find timetables or daily checklists for every stage  on ClassDojo and Google Classroom. These timetables will provide an outline of what your child should do during the day for remote learning. You can also access these here.

Chromebook Connection Help!

Are you having issues connecting the school chromebook to your wifi at home?

Follow these instructions to connect successfully.

Still having issues?

Call the office on 9790 6158 and ask for Miss Vuong. If available, she can assist you in connecting your device over the phone otherwise she will call you back at her earliest convenience.

Please note this option is only for connecting the school chromebooks to your wifi. Any other technological issues that are external to the school's control will need to be resolved through your own efforts or through the assistance of your service provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best environment for my child to learn in?

Try to create a quiet and comfortable learning space. Your child may have a regular place for doing homework under normal circumstances, but this space may not be suitable for working in for an extended period of time.

A space/location for extended learning should be a public/family space, not in a bedroom. It should be a place that can be quiet at times and have a strong wireless internet signal, if possible. Above all, it should be a space where you or another adult is present and monitoring your children's learning.

Check out this Learning Environment Checklist from the DOE.

Will the school be providing iPads for my child?

Unfortunately due to our schools iPads settings and link to iTunes, we are unable to let students borrow school iPads.

My child is in K-2 and we don't have any devices to connect online. What should I do?

Contact your child's classroom teacher for more information.

As a parent, what are my responsibilities and my child's responsibilities in regards to remote learning?

You can see a list of these responsibilities here on the advice to parents page on the DOE's 'Learning from Home' resource.

I have a question that is not referred to here.

Contact your classroom teacher on ClassDojo for further support or call the school office on 9790 6158.
